Embroidered Sequin Mesh Kaftan

Black, but not plain black. A sheer black mesh maxi worn over its own black slip, with gold sequin embroidery worked exactly where it counts: a wide band at each cuff and a scalloped band running around the skirt above a sheer flounced hem. The square neckline is edged with a fine gold chain. It pulls on over the head with no opening, no closure and no belt — restrained under daylight, considerably less so once the lights go down. Styling note

Black asks for one strong contrast and nothing more. Gold earrings or a deep red hijab — not both. Heels are optional; the length is generous enough that flats will not undo the line, which makes it a rare occasion piece you can actually stand in all evening.
